Recap: Beach 2021
Thank you for joining us for our first beach volleyball summer season.
See you next summer!
This is Slainte Volleyball Club’s first summer beach season! Slainte offers training for all levels. Whether you’ve stepped in the sand to play before or are now developing your sand legs, we have the program for you. The season will include developing essential beach volleyball fundamentals, lessons on increasing volleyball IQ, and zoning in on good technique and skill work. The play environment will promote healthy competition, constant opportunities for improvement, lessons on communicating within and outside of the sport, and most importantly, competing at a high level and having fun at the same time.
Our practices will be held on Sundays and Thursdays. Times will vary between 9am-1pm for Sunday sessions and 4pm-8pm for Thursday sessions. Practice times and locations will be confirmed following registration. We plan to set up at either Ocean Beach or Baker Beach. If you are unable to attend a practice, please let Coach Aaron know the day before.

“I started playing beach my freshman year in college and it drastically changed my overall volleyball game. I was fortunate to learn from former USA Olympian, Angela Rock, who is now coaching at Stanford University. The game taught me better ball control, improved vision, communication, and increased my stamina. My favorite part about beach volleyball is the increased amount of touches I get while playing. You only have one other partner so you are demanded to make good contacts at a higher and more rapid pace compared to indoor. I can guarantee a change in the individual indoor game once a player makes the transition or integrates the beach game into their play.”

The summer beach volleyball season will run from June 24 through August 22. Membership for the beach season is being offered at $1,100. This fee will include the following:
Participating in tournaments is optional. The club is not allowed to register players for tournaments, so all players will be required to sign up individually. Please note that tournament fees are not included in the membership fees.
Tournament registration for California Beach Volleyball Association (CBVA) hosted events open up 4 weeks and 1 day from the scheduled event. These events are held on Wednesdays so coaching may not be available unless scheduled with advanced notice. Event listings can be found here: https://cbva.com/tournament/juniorschedule
We are on the hunt for more tournament opportunities. As of now, local tournaments do not show any players being registered to participate. If this remains the case, we will add more mini tournaments and see if other local clubs would like to come and participate. Please refrain from signing up for the Academy tournaments listed below until further notice. We will continue to keep an eye on registration numbers.
