Summer Beach Volleyball

USAV/NCVA Membership

​USAV is the governing body that runs all volleyball programs in the United States.  In order to participate in any practices and/or tournaments during the  season, you must have registered and paid for a full USAV membership.
Please note that the local governing body for our region is Northern California Volleyball Association (NCVA).  If you have questions or concerns that we are not able to address, please feel free to contact NCVA at (415) 550-7582.
Everyone is required to register in order to participate in tryouts and the current season.  This includes players, coaches, chaperones, and directors. Register at: www.ncva.com 
Please note that the tryout pass and full season membership cost is separate from club and tryout fees.

QUALIFYING AGE INFORMATION

Qualifying Age 2023-24
Your birthday determines the age division which you may participate in. Please see below regarding your possible team options.
  • QUALIFYING AGE GROUPS
    • 18 & under age division – Players who were born on or after July 1, 2005.  Or, players who were born on or after July 1, 2004 and a high school student in the twelfth (12th) grade or below during some part of the current academic year
    • 17 & under age division - Players who were born on or after July 1, 2004
    • 16 & under age division – Players who were born on or after July 1, 2005
    • 15 & under age division – Players who were born on or after July 1, 2006
    • 14 & under age division – Players who were born on or after July 1, 2007
    • 13 & under age division – Players who were born on or after July 1, 2008
    • 12 & under age division – Players who were born on or after July 1, 2009
    • 11 & under age division – Players who were born on or after July 1, 2010
    • 10 & under — Players who were born on or after July 1, 2011
If your birthday falls in the 13s age division, you may participate in the 13 & under division or older. You may not play in the 12 & under age division. The only exception made by USAV is if you qualify for 13s but are in a younger grade. USAV will allow you to play in non-qualifying tournaments in the younger age division. This means you may participate in non-league tournaments or premier league but cannot compete in the younger age division for Power League or at a National Qualifiers.
